Opening Doors: Dominic’s Work Experience Journey with Vinci Facilities

At Ascent Autism College, we’re passionate about creating real opportunities for our students to develop meaningful skills that prepare them for life beyond the classroom. One shining example of this is Dominic, a student who has been taking part in regular work experience at Whiston Hospital alongside Patrick Reid and the Vinci Facilities team.

Each week, Dominic joins the team to support with a range of admin and marketing tasks—gaining hands-on experience, building confidence, and developing valuable workplace skills that will support his journey into employment. His dedication and professionalism have impressed everyone involved, and he’s become a valued member of the team.

But the story doesn’t stop there.

Generous donation

We’re incredibly proud to share that Vinci Facilities has made a generous donation of £585 to Ascent College. This contribution will directly support and enhance our careers programme, allowing us to create even more tailored work-based opportunities for young people like Dominic.

A huge thank you to @vincifacilities_ for your generosity, and for your commitment to breaking down barriers to employment for autistic young people. Your support is helping to build a more inclusive future—one placement, one student, and one opportunity at a time.

And finally—well done Dominic! Your hard work is opening doors not just for yourself, but for others following in your footsteps.
